FAIRY
CLASSIC
Magpie project is divided into three small themes. Their names are 'Classic', 'Individual Life' and 'Fairy'.
The idea of the theme, 'Classic', comes from the movie "Paris, I Love You" . The movie directors use 18 different short stories to express human emotions. Human emotions are unique and irreplaceable. Therefore, 'unique' and 'irreplaceable' are my general idea in this theme. In the past of China, Tang Dynasty had the first female who ascended the throne, Empress Wu ZeTian, who is also the only empress in the history of Ancient China.
The second theme is 'Fairy'. The concept comes from INSTALLATION ART. I have chosen two pf my favourite artists' works, which the names are 'In What Distant Sky' and 'The Oldest Song We Know'.
My key inspiration comes form a picture in 'In What Distant Sky'
An old, quiet factory surrounded by a think layer of fog, there was a person who was knocking an enormous copper bell, and other natural materials;
The picture in my mind has given me a feeling of mysteriously, distantly, and somehow not in a same dimension.
In Chinese fairy tales, when fairy appears, the surroundings will become foggy and slightly windy, with weird things. But white is the most important element among the whole process.
